Offices are easy to overlook.
In a market that increasingly leans digital, they can begin to feel secondary, almost optional. Much of the industry has followed that path, reducing its physical presence and, in some cases, distancing itself from the places it operates within. Yet in areas like Glasgow’s West End, and indeed across the discerning markets in which Corum calls home, decisions are rarely straightforward and never purely transactional. To us, that means presence still carries weight.
This week, we reopened our office on Hyndland Road following a full refurbishment. Not simply as an upgrade, but as a considered investment in the area and the role we play within it.
“The West End has always been a special place to us, and it’s been a very important part of Corum’s story.”
“The West End has always been a special place to us, and it’s been a very important part of Corum’s story.”
This is one of our original offices. For over 23 years, it has been central to how we have operated in the West End. From here, we have represented tens of thousands of homes, working closely with clients through decisions that are often as personal as they are financial. Over time, that has made us not just active in the market, but part of it.
The West End has always rewarded that kind of consistency.
It is a market shaped by character and by care. It evolves, but it does so gradually, holding on to what gives it its identity. That same principle has guided our approach here. A long-term presence, built through experience and understanding, rather than short-term activity.
Under the stewardship of our Partner, John Davidson, alongside Associate Partner, Sally Cormack, the office has become a constant in an area where trust carries real weight. As John reflects, “The West End has always been a special place to work, and a very important part of Corum’s story. Over the past 23 years, we’ve had the privilege of representing an extraordinary range of homes and clients, and in many ways, growing alongside the area itself.”
The refurbishment is a natural progression of that story, but it also says something more.
At a time when much of the industry is focused on visibility, on putting itself front and centre, we have taken a slightly different approach. If there is an element of vanity in what we have done here, it is in the space itself. A belief in pride of place. That the office should reflect the standard of service delivered within it, and the importance of the decisions made inside.
As John puts it, “This new office reflects not just where we are today, but the standards we set for the future. It’s a space that allows us to better serve our clients, while remaining rooted in the community we know so well.”
This is not a cosmetic refresh. It is a statement of intent.
It also forms part of a wider programme of investment across our network. From the West End through the suburbs of Greater Glasgow, and along the length of Ayrshire’s coast, we are upgrading each of our offices with the same level of care and intent.
“It’s a space that allows us to better serve our clients, while remaining rooted in the community we know so well.”
“It’s a space that allows us to better serve our clients, while remaining rooted in the community we know so well.”
That investment is grounded in something simple. We take pride in the places we operate. We have been part of these communities for years, in many cases decades, and we see it as our responsibility to reflect that properly. Not just in how we advise and represent our clients, but in the presence we maintain within those areas.
Reopening our doors on Hyndland Road is therefore both a continuation and a commitment.
A continuation of a 23-year presence in one of Glasgow’s most enduring markets, and a clear statement that we intend to be here, delivering at the right level, for the long term.
