Sundrum Castle Estate is home to Sundrum Castle one of the oldest inhabited castles in Scotland dating back to the War of Scottish Independence. Dating back to the 1360’s the castle was owned by the Cathcart family until 1753when it was sold to James Murray of Broughton for £18,000. It was subsequently sold to the Hamilton family who were in residence until 1917.
