This week, we had the pleasure of working with Caroline Cook, who has called Bridge of Weir home for over 18 years. We sat together in her cosy snug while our videographer captured more of the beautiful home you have been seeing across our channels this week. In a lovely full circle moment, we discovered that the Cooks actually bought their home from Corum, making this collaboration feel even more special and meant to be. I left feeling inspired by Caroline’s wonderful outlook on life, and her thoughtful tips on what truly makes a house a home.
Working with Caroline felt like the perfect fit for Corum, especially as we proudly operate a longstanding branch in Bridge of Weir. Our team is uniquely positioned to offer in-depth, firsthand knowledge of the local property market, expertise rooted in a genuine connection to the area. Partnering with another local expert felt not only natural but right.
Throughout December, we will be sharing a month-long series of social and editorial content designed to inspire, reassure, and elevate your festive season, giving you everything you need to host beautifully, confidently, and with heart.
“Christmas must be magical and not too organised…”
“Christmas must be magical and not too organised…”
Caroline…What’s your secret to creating a festive home without going overboard?
Christmas must be magical and not too organised, so my decorating isn’t perfect, but each room usually has a relaxed theme. I like to use decorations we have collected over the years, some passed down from my mum, and I buy from small independents for quirky updates each year.
Any tips for decorating small spaces?
I do love adding colour to my home, but will go for lighter shades in smaller rooms as well as minimising the clutter I like to add to most areas of the house.
What’s one styling mistake to avoid during the holidays?
Bright white fairy lights. They look blue and cold. I always use warm white for that magical glow.

What are your favourite things to do in Bridge of Weir?
There are lots of places to walk; the cycle track route to Kilmacolm is great for walking or cycling. My husband and son enjoy the golf course. And we all enjoy a family meal in our local Italian Amaretto. We also often visit our favourite deli or cafe The Village Kitchen and Pantry for hot rolls and soup.
Do you have any festive traditions you look forward to each year?
We have gone to Amaretto for our Christmas Eve dinner nearly every year since moving to Bridge of Weir 18 years ago. It is a lovely atmosphere and always busy.
Do you have any tips for last-minute entertaining?
A grazing board is a quick way to put together some food that looks good and will suit most tastes, but I admit my husband is better at prepping food than me.
From our homes to yours,
Corum
