Before the successful marketing and sale of this beautiful ground floor flat, on our client’s behalf we engaged with Northstar Staging, allowing them to create a beautiful interior design vision that perfectly demonstrated the potential of this traditional apartment within this striking sandstone building.
“My central aim was to balance a palette of vibrant and dynamic stylings that retain the charm and history of Pollokshields.”
Drawing inspiration from the characterful nature of the locale, I envisioned a space that combined the energy of Pollokshields with contemporary elegance. My design ethos is centred on creating a tone that is not only inspiring and uplifting, but also resonates with the charm of the area.
“Weaving together a rich past with a vision of modern interior sophistication.”
In the bright lounge at the front, the woodwork adorning the bay windows became the focus of my design decisions in this space. Bold, striking colours complement the rich hues of the exquisite natural wood to create a tableau that is both vibrant and dynamic. Strong reds, interspersed with well-placed jet black accents, pay homage to the original architectural elements while imparting a modern flair.
“Accentuating key themes to maximise the essence of each space.”
Echoing the beautiful woodwork found throughout, from the original doors to the storage shelving in the bathroom and the bay windows in the bedrooms, I carefully selected colour palettes that distinguished each room while maintaining a balanced flow throughout the apartment. In the bedrooms, gentle greens and soft yellows create a calm and inviting atmosphere, contrasting with the master bedroom, where subtle grey tones highlight the elegance of the darker wood flooring. The addition of a lighter wood desk in the bedroom emphasises its further potential as a comfortable home office space, incorporating practicality into the apartment’s overall aesthetic.
